One Happy Leaf || Bamboo Jewelry For Aspiring Minimalists

IMG_1608.JPG

When it comes to jewelry, my mantra is pretty similar to the other areas of my life: I try to keep it as simple as possible. I prefer delicate stacking rings to statement pieces, and long necklaces with a simple pendent over colorful baubles. I only own one pair of earrings.

This "keep it simple" motto helps me stick to my own personal style and only choose pieces that will, like everything else in my closet, flow well together. So, naturally, when I find a brand whose motto aligns well with mine, I'm hooked.

One Happy Leaf designs jewelry for "nature lovers, aspiring minimalists, wearers of messy buns and unapologetic smiles". Their pieces are all made by hand in Australia by Anna, the brand's founder and designer.

Anna focuses on sustainability in each of her designs, using bamboo to create her pieces instead of other types of wood. Bamboo grows quickly and requires very little water, making it a much more eco-friendly alternative than other mainstream jewelry.

It gets even better though — with every piece of jewelry sold, Anna plants a tree in the buyer's honor. The trees are planted in Australia, in areas requiring rehabilitation or reforestation.

Anna believes that little by little, with something as simple as purchasing a better option for jewelry, we can truly make the world a better place, one planted tree and bamboo jewelry piece at a time.

I'm wearing the eclipse necklace (I'm a sucker for anything color blocked,) and the short minimal bar studs and it's safe to say that I've worn at least one of the pieces every single day since they arrived. They're as versatile as they are beautiful.

Anna's designs aren't only perfect for minimalists though, she has quirky designs, nature themed pieces and other items perfect for animal lovers. Here are a few of my favorites:

With Mother's day right around the corner, I can't think of a more beautiful gift that's both handmade and eco-friendly for the mamas in your life. Shop her collections here, and don't be surprised if you fall in love, like I did.
