Reprise Activewear || Plant-Based Leggings to Live In

I typically turn down collaborations with legging companies.

As I’ve defined my “work from home personal style”, I’ve learned that I’m my most productive when I feel put together and not like I could hit the gym at any given moment. Don’t get me wrong, I love comfort, coziness, and movement in my wardrobe, but I typically save leggings for activities that require true movement, or moments when I’m scattered and don’t have time to dress in what I love (ie. school drop offs, sick days, late-nights with tired babies…).

That is, until I tried Reprise.

The first “hook” for me was the fact that Reprise wasn’t luring customers in with greenwashed promises of being eco-friendly through using recycled plastic or polyester. Of course, there’s a time and place for repurposing pre-existing plastic, but adding it to our clothing doesn’t do much good in the long run — both for the environment and for our bodies — and I try to steer clear of synthetic fabrics in general.

Reprise uses Tencel (a product of the beech tree) for their leggings, and they’re completely plastic-free. Our skin deserves better than plastic bottles, as Reprise says so well.

Which brings me to the other reason I typically don’t promote leggings on my blog or social media…

I can almost never find a fit that I love.

More often than not, the leggings I’ve tried made from natural fibers like bamboo (modal) or hemp loose their shape after only a few hours of wear. They stretch out, sag and don’t flatter my body. I would rather relax in my favorite pair of denim or a flowy dress than in a pair of ill-fitting leggings. I wasn’t even sure the perfect combination of comfort and versatility existed in a legging. Maybe I was being too picky, I thought.

That is, until I tried Reprise…

These photos were taken on my fourth or fifth time wearing these leggings (without washing them). They still hug my body and are as stretchy and tight as they were the first time I put them on, but without being restrictive or uncomfortable. The fabric could easily be confused with actual butter (a smooth, “creamy” texture as opposed to a silky or fleece texture that so many leggings have). And, dare I say it as someone who rarely leaves the house in athleisure, they can be just as easily worn out and about as they can for a day around the house.

With the holidays fast approaching (and work from home life, it seems, isn’t going anywhere anytime soon), a pair of high quality, versatile, sustainable leggings is likely at the top of everyone’s wishlist. If you (or your best friend, or your mom, or your daughter, or aunt, or co-worker, or teachers) haven’t found a pair you’re truly in love with yet, I’d love for you to give Reprise a try! You can use the code SIMPLYLIV10 for 10% off your purchase as a little gift from Reprise to you. <3

Now, the real question is, how many more wears can I get before I break down and wash them? Don’t tell the other fashion bloggers, but I’ve really been living in leggings these days.
