One Tee, Nine Ways || Sancho's Dress Capsule Collection
I'm going to sound like a broken record here, but hear me out.
If you're working on creating a minimal, intentional wardrobe that flows and works with your lifestyle, there's one word that you should always, always keep in mind.
Versatility.
If I've said it once, I've said it a billion times, but I truly think that after you consider the ethics behind a piece and need for the piece in your closet, versatility should be the very next thing in your mind.
With each new item I add to my closet, I ensure that I can wear it with (at least) three different outfits, and so today I thought I'd walk you through how that looks in reality with a staple piece that every closet needs: the plain white tee.
Mine is from Sancho's Dress, a small, UK based shop that curates ethically made, affordable pieces with the hopes of making fair fashion more accessible for the everyday consumer. Although you can find white tees almost anywhere, I truly think that this Stella Jokes long sleeve tee is special for a few reasons.
Firstly, it's part of the shop's recently launched, limited edition all-year capsule collection. Kalkidan, the store's owner, curated a timeless round up of pieces that every capsule needs from breton striped tees, to comfy sweatshirts, to color blocked jewelry to top it all off.
You can buy the capsule in its entirety for £200 ($252,) or shop each piece separately to fill gaps in your existing closet. The only catch is that the collection is only available until May 16 and there's a limited amount of capsules left, so don't wait too long to shop!
The second reason I'm loving this basic white tee is that it's made with 100% certified organic cotton, a growing fabric in my closet. It's more durable than most cotton tees, won't irritate your skin, and is so comfortable to wear.
So much so that I thought I'd show you 9 of the many ways I've worn this tee in the short time I've had it.
Look 1: Flats + Necklace
The easiest way to wear the tee is by itself, with a simple necklace and jeans.
- Necklace: Wakened Apparel
- Flats: Penny Thrift
Look 2: Dressy Layers
The tee is perfect layered under my LNBF maxi dress for chilly spring days.
- Booties: Fortress of Inca
- Dress: LNBF
Look 3: Mom Shorts
Mom shorts + Plain white tee = most versatile outfit ever.
- Flip flops: Olli
- Shorts: Thrifted
Look 4: Layered Crop Top
Can you catch my subtle salute to the 90's with this outfit? I love the contrast of the black and white and the tank layers easily over the long sleeves.
- Crop top: Madewell via ThredUP
Look 5: Fedora
It's simple and easy. Besides, fedoras make everything better.
- Fedora: Equal Uprise
Look 6: Open Dress
Although the blue "cardi" is actually a dress, I've been loving to wear it open an turned around as an lightweight cardigan over my tee.
- Blue Swing Dress: VETTA Capsule
Look 7: Simple Scarf
Again, a tried and true classic. You can't go wrong with a scarf and a basic tee.
Look 8: Blush Boxy Crop
A simple outfit can be easily made more interesting with layers of varying lengths. I love adding boxy crop tops to more fitted tees.
- Boxy Crop: Penny Thrift
- Huaraches: Filanthropik Threads
- Jeans: ThredUP
Look 9: Linen Tunic
This linen tunic is equally as versatile, making this a potent and classy combo.
Tunic: Temperate
See what I mean? It doesn't get more versatile than that.
