Last month, I shared about a small-batch activewear brand out of Vancouver called Daub | Active. I received two pairs of her leggings and a mesh tank top for the post, but, aside from my (of course) highly positive review of Lexi's products, it's always my goal to take you a little bit deeper than "how do they fit" and "where were they made".
As part of a three-post series on the brand, I'm so excited to share an interview with the founder, designer, and one-woman-show behind both Daub | Active and Daub + Design. Lexi is incredibly intentional with the way she structures and runs her businesses and her interview is proof of just how much work (and extra expense) it can be to keep your brand ethical.
She talks about whether or not "eco-friendly" is really possible in the fashion industry, tips for new business owners and dreamers, and the importance of self-care. Enjoy!
Last month I shared about home goods brand that is doing big things to reduce waste and make organic, clean products accessible to everyone. I've been using Plaine Product's shampoo, conditioner, and body wash for almost three months (I'm about to order a refill- that's how much I love these products) and it's been amazing for several reasons.
Not only do I completely trust the ingredients in these products (read on to see a full list of exactly what is in each bottle...no chemicals or unpronounceable's), it's changed my mindset about waste and how silly it is that the majority of our body products come in single use bottles that may or may not be recycled, and will likely be thrown out.
I'm so excited to share an interview with Lindsey, the brand's founder (along with her sister), where she gives insight into her long term plans for Plaine Products, what goes in each bottle, and more.
These two phrases are easily the quickest way to my heart: quality wardrobe staples and good grammar. As it turns out, today's brand has mastered both. GRAMMAR is a crisp, new fashion company hailing from NYC, on a mission to create wardrobe classics that every woman will wear time and again.
Although GRAMMAR's first collection, aptly titled the Perfect White Shirt Collection, seems effortless, the brand's founder and designer, Althea Simmons, had anything but an effortless journey to see them to this point. In celebration of GRAMMAR's official launch on Kickstarter, I'm sharing a bit of a peek into that story today.
You all know how much I love a good brand launch and today I have the honor of introducing a brand new sustainable and ethical brand founded by Dina Chavez, an (ex-fast fashion brand owner and) fashion designer with deep roots in the fashion industry who is passionate about making fashion more transparent, ethical, and planet-friendly.
SixChel, launched their kickstarter campaign TODAY and the first collection features elevated basics that are perfect for everyday wear, paired with items you already know and love. Dina uses sustainable, eco-friendly, and biodegradable materials for her pieces to create clothing that is both feminine and cutting-edge.
